Employment Credit

Insperity Employment Screening recommends an Employment Credit History report for employees who can affect the company financially. This may include all employees in accounting functions, as well as those who may, for example, be entrusted with a corporate credit or purchasing card. This report includes verification of the applicants' name, their current and previous addresses, current phone numbers, current employers, up to three previous employers, and any aliases associated with the Social Security n umber. The credit summary portion of the report contains the complete file, including verified public records ( e. g., liens, judgments, etc.), collection accounts, current or previous delinquent accounts, types of credit, total indebtedness, and a summary for each trade line.

Driving Records

While some companies believe driving records should be used only if an applicant will be driving a company car, crimes are not isolated to where we live and work, and Insperity Employment Screening believes driving records expose important character issues. By searching an applicant's driving record, we learn about suspended licenses, failures to appear in court and arrest warrants.

Education Verification

Education Verification is recommended for managerial positions, as well as most business office functions. Statistics reveal that education is one of the things that applicants falsify most often on employment applications. Insperity Employment Screening generally verifies college degrees but can also verify high school graduation and trade/vocational school certificates. Education Verification will confirm attendance and degree earned. Some educational institutions will report GPA.

Employment Verification

Past Employment Verification is recommended for all employees. It is approximated that 40 percent of all résumes and employment applications contain falsified information. Insperity Employment Screening’s in-house Reference and Verification department offers reports that verify the employer's name, applicant's title, dates of employment, salary history, whether he or she is eligible for rehire, and additional comments. We also offer reference checks and in-depth supervisor interviews to inquire about the applicant's initiative, follow-through, growth potential, organization skills, adaptability, work ethic or any other information our clients want us to ask.

Onsite Criminal Records

County criminal searches are recommended to protect against workplace violence and employee theft. Insperity Employment Screening performs searches of current records directly from local county s uperior and municipal courts. Criminal searches are available nationwide, as well as in U.S. territories and Canada. We recommend a search of all counties of residence and any aliases that are identified in an applicant's Social Security t race. Using our network of researchers, we access the most current information available and report felony and misdemeanor convictions, based on applicable federal and state law.

Insperity Employment Screening does not use online or CD-ROM databases, which may be out of date and inaccurate. In a staff opinion letter, the FTC stated that "an employment screening service that uses 'stored data' (which may be as much as 90 days old) does not comply with" the Fair Credit Reporting Act Section 613(2). State r epositories are available in some states, but many provide partial or out-of-date information because they are not frequently updated. Except where the repository is updated daily, state repository searches should not replace county criminal searches.

National Criminal Database Search

The National Criminal Database Search is a valuable, comprehensive resource that provides same-day access to the largest criminal database available – with millions of offense records. It helps to uncover convictions in counties not identified in a Social Security trace or Employment Credit Report (if the subject never lived in the county). Records from states are indexed from state correctional institutions, the Office of Foreign Asset Control and some state and county court records. Any matches reported on this search must be confirmed with an onsite search at the reporting jurisdiction to meet the Fair Credit Reporting Act’s requirement for up-to-date reporting.

Professional Credential Verification

Insperity Employment Screening's Reference and Verification department conducts professional license and certification verifications. Our reports reveal the validity of applicants' professional licenses, dates of issue, renewal and expiration dates, current statuses and any disciplinary actions.

Social Security Verification and Fraud Detect

The Social Security Verification and Fraud Detect checks the validity of an applicant's Social Security number. If it is valid, the trace will identify the year and state in which the number was issued. This report will alert you if the number has not been issued, if it was used in a previously filed death claim, or if it was used with any fraudulent activity. The trace also identifies aliases that have been used and provides up to three past addresses, which help in determining which counties we should search for an applicant's criminal record.
